Welcome to The Joy of River Cruising! My name is Leigh Ann Lane and I am the Business Manager and a River Cruise Specialist with The Joy of Travel. My mission is to provide you with once in a lifetime travel experiences steeped in history, culture, and excitement. I have had the pleasure of working at The Joy of Travel for nine years and run the agency with Joy, who happens to be my mom. I love the day-to-day interaction with our clients through the business office and strive to provide professional, in depth, highly experienced planning services.
River cruising holds a special place in my heart, and is my favorite way to travel in Europe. I have completed rigorous training and earned expert certifications from your favorite river cruise companies, but most importantly, I have personally invested in my river cruise expertise. I have sailed the Danube River with both Avalon and Ama Waterways, including the widely popular Christmas Market itineraries in Germany and Austria. I have sailed the beautiful Seine River in France. I attended the 2023 ASTA Global River Cruise Expo in Budapest, Hungary, extending further my knowledge of the top river cruise products in the industry. Ama, Avalon, Riverside, Amadeus, Scenic, and Viking were all in attendance. An entire week was dedicated to learning about these products, including multiple ship inspections and events onboard. Every cruise line is different and special, and we travel and study extensively to bring you the first-hand knowledge and expertise that will cultivate the perfect experience for you.
I grew up in North Texas and have lived in Oklahoma for over two decades. I currently reside in beautiful Oklahoma City with my husband and son. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s Degree in Public School Administration from Northeastern State University. I worked at Checotah Public Schools in Eastern Oklahoma for eight amazing years before joining Mom at the agency, learning so much and taking my teaching and administrative experiences into my role here at The Joy of Travel.
