No visit to Cabo is complete without basking in the sun on its breathtaking beaches. Medano Beach is a favorite, offering water sports, beachfront restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. Lover's Beach, accessible only by boat, provides a secluded escape with its unique rock formations. It’s worth noting that most resort beaches in Cabo are not swimmable. The confluence of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean creates a horrific undertow. If a swimmable beach is imperative, you need to be clear with that request when investigating resort choices.
El Arco, or the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, is an iconic natural rock formation at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula. Take a boat tour to witness this stunning landmark, and don't forget your camera!
As mentioned in an earlier blog, Cabo is renowned for its whale watching opportunities, with humpback and gray whales migrating through its waters. Be sure to book a whale-watching tour during the winter months (December to April) for a chance to see these magnificent creatures up close.
Cabo's waters are a haven for underwater enthusiasts. You can explore colorful coral reefs and encounter an extensive array of marine life.
During our last visit to Cabo we found, to our delight, that our resort offered a sea turtle nest sanctuary. We watched as hundreds of hatching sea turtles were documented and released. It was an amazing experience.
Cabo is a world-class sportfishing destination, known for its abundant marlin, dorado, and tuna. Charter a fishing boat for an unforgettable day on the Ocean and test your angling skills.
Golfers, rejoice! Cabo boasts some of the world's most picturesque golf courses, designed by legends like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Tee off against a backdrop of stunning ocean views and desert landscapes. Quivero and Puerto Los Cabos are favorites among our golfing friends. Cabo Real is another solid choice.
Explore the rugged beauty of the Baja Peninsula by hiking or riding ATVs through its desert trails. Visit places like the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains for a taste of Cabo's natural diversity.
Zip lines, rappelling, rock climbing. My favorite spot for all three of these is high in the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. The Superman zip line is the best anywhere. You lie in a hammock on your stomach and shoot off the side of a cliff. It’s over a mile in length, speeds of 60+ MPH. What a thrill!
