Some years are memorable.
Others are milestone years that redefine everything.
2025 was the latter.
2025 marked 20 incredible years of The Joy of Travel, and it was celebrated the only way that felt right—by traveling boldly, beautifully, and with purpose. It was a year filled with gratitude, growth, industry leadership, and the kind of experiences that remind me why this journey began two decades ago.
Ten Extraordinary Trips. Endless Gratitude.
The year kicked off exactly as it should have—sun-soaked and joy-filled in Playa del Carmen. Warm breezes, turquoise water, and unforgettable time with my favorite people set the tone for a year that was all about celebration, connection, and fun.
From there, Europe called with elegance and history in Budapest, where a wonderful river cruise delivered sweeping views, rich culture, and that unmistakable feeling of slowing down and truly savoring a destination.
Then came a long-awaited bucket-list dream: Southern Africa. Experiencing South Africa, vibrant Cape Town, the thunderous power of Victoria Falls, and unforgettable safaris in Chobe was nothing short of life-changing. This was travel at its most profound—immersive, emotional, and awe-inspiring.
Between these journeys, 2025 was also marked by three over-the-top industry events, where we connected with global partners, explored what’s next in luxury and experiential travel, and continued sharpening the expertise that sets The Joy of Travel apart.
Back in Europe, Bordeaux and the wondrous regions surrounding it delivered everything France does best—history, charm, exquisite wine, and a sense of place that lingers long after you return home. It was a reminder that true luxury is found in authenticity and access.
And because celebration should never be limited, it was back to Playa del Carmen once again—proof that when a destination delivers joy, sunshine, and laughter, it deserves a repeat performance.
Next stop: Portugal. From the energy and beauty of Lisbon to a fabulous Douro River cruise winding through terraced vineyards and timeless villages, this journey perfectly blended culture, comfort, and unforgettable scenery.
Then came the crowning jewel of the year.
A Christmas cruise on the Rhine—pure magic from start to finish. Storybook towns, festive markets, glowing lights, and that cozy European holiday spirit made this journey one that truly topped the charts and served as the perfect finale to a milestone year.
