BIG NEWS - A New Chapter in the Way I Travel

For the past 21 years, my trips have been about seeing as much as possible.

We moved quickly. Covered a lot of ground. Checked the boxes.
And there’s real value in that—especially when you’re discovering the world for the first time.

But something has been changing.

In my own travels… and in what I hear from so many of you.

There’s a growing desire to slow down.
To go a little deeper.
To experience a place instead of just passing through it.

And honestly? I feel it too.

So here’s a little heads up—because I believe in bringing you along for the journey:

In the coming years, the way I design and lead group trips is going to look different.

More intentional.
More immersive.
More focused on connection, culture, and those moments you can’t quite put into words—but never forget.

We may spend more time in fewer places.
We’ll seek out experiences that feel personal and meaningful.
And we’ll create space to actually be there, not just move through.

This doesn’t erase the past—it builds on it.

Because after 20 years of seeing the world at full speed, I’ve learned something important:

The trips that stay with you are the ones where you felt the most.

If that kind of travel speaks to you, I think you’re going to love what’s ahead.

And I can’t wait to share it with you. 🌍

Your Globetrotting Friend,
Joy

P.S. Some of my agents are still designing those fast-paced, see-it-all journeys—and there’s absolutely a place for that. So if you love covering a lot of ground and checking off the highlights, you’ll still find plenty of options. At The Joy of Travel, the goal is simple: creating experiences that meet you exactly where you are.
